Welcome to Side Quest Festival; a brand-new collaborative festival built from the ground up by Big Fat Rave & hundreds of local creatives, collectives and crews.

This immersive, multi-genre experience is a celebration of music, sound system culture, creativity, community and connection.

Venue

Taking over the Clay Shed at Hoults Yard in Byker, Newcastle. A disused crazy golf warehouse, painted wall to wall and ceiling to floor, that has never held an event like this before.

Explore four stages and a warren of hidden areas, each packed with immersive side quests, unexpected discoveries and unforgettable moments.

Inside the Clay Shed

A disused crazy golf warehouse at Hoults Yard, painted top to bottom. Four stages and a warren of hidden areas, built for one weekend only.

A 360-degree “tiny planet” view of the whole venue, curving the room into a sphere around the yellow Netto Golf kiosk, with strings of lights radiating outward and graffiti-covered walls and rafters wrapped around the edge.
  • Looking down over the crazy golf course from a walkway: weathered timber shack fronts covered in graffiti, strings of fairy lights criss-crossing overhead, and a lit booth glowing at the far end.
  • Hole four at ground level, a rusted metal archway painted in neon green and pink graffiti, mini golf greens underfoot and shopfronts lit up behind.
  • A huge neon mural of a cartoon face in green and pink painted across a pillar, with the lit sign of a mocked-up Greggs shopfront beside it.

FAQ

I already have a ticket. What do I need to know?
Side Quest is at the Clay Shed, Hoults Yard in Byker, five minutes up the road from the original site. Your ticket is valid there and there is nothing you need to do. Doors are 13:00 and the postcode for maps is NE6 1AB.
What ID do I need?
This is an 18+ event. Bring valid physical photo ID: passport, driving licence (full or provisional), or a PASS-accredited card. No physical ID, no entry, no exceptions, no refund.
What’s the bag policy?
Small bags only (roughly A4 size or smaller) and everyone gets searched on entry. No large backpacks, no outside drinks, no aerosols, no glass. Travel light and you’ll fly through the line.
Can I pay by card?
Yes. The bars and merch are cashless. Tap, card, and phone payments all work. There is no cash point on site, so don’t count on cash.
